We ordered takeout from Sip Saam Thai in Austin, and the food completely exceeded our expectations. It’s not always easy to find Thai dishes that travel well, but everything we picked up held its flavor, texture, and freshness beautifully. We tried the eggplant, pad see ew, drunken noodles, and crab fried rice, and more, and each dish had its own charm. Even as a takeout experience, everything felt restaurant-quality. The packaging kept the dishes warm without getting soggy, and the portion sizes were filling without being overly heavy. Pickup was quick, organized, and the staff seemed genuinely friendly.
We recently dined at Sip Saam Thai and tried several dishes: Vegetable Gyoza, Chicken Green Curry, Seafood Pad Cha, Egg Noodles, and Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. The Vegetable Gyoza was the standout appetizer. These crispy, fried dumplings were filled with a flavorful vegetable mix, and the texture was spot on — crunchy on the outside, soft and well-seasoned inside. We thoroughly enjoyed them. The Chicken Green Curry came with sticky rice and was ordered at a medium spice level (5/10). It had a creamy coconut milk base, a mix of vegetables, and a decent portion of thinly sliced boneless chicken breast. The flavor was decent, though not exceptional. The Seafood Pad Cha was average — neither great nor terrible. It didn’t leave a strong impression and probably isn’t something we’d return for. The Egg Noodles, unfortunately, didn’t meet our expectations. We’ve had better versions of this dish elsewhere in the area. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Mango Sticky Rice. Perfectly ripe mango paired with sweet sticky rice made for a delightful ending to the meal. We would absolutely go back just for this dessert. Overall, the dining experience was good. The service was excellent — quick, attentive, and friendly. While not everything wowed us, the warm hospitality and a couple of standout dishes made the visit worthwhile.
Sip Saam Thai is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of authentic flavors and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The decor exudes a warm Thai charm, making it ideal for both casual meals and special occasions. The Thai iced tea is a standout, with just the right amount of sweetness and a rich, creamy texture that perfectly complements the meal. The fried rice is a flavorful, comforting dish, packed with fresh vegetables and well-cooked rice, while the short ribs are incredibly tender, melting in your mouth with each bite. The rich flavors of the ribs, combined with a perfect balance of spices, make them a must-try. To end the meal, the mango sticky rice is a true highlight—ripe, sweet mango paired with velvety coconut rice that strikes the perfect harmony between sweetness and texture. This dessert is the ideal way to conclude a memorable dining experience. Overall, Sip Saam Thai impresses not only with its delicious, authentic Thai dishes but also with its delightful ambiance, making it a top choice for Thai cuisine lovers.
This is my sister-in-law's favorite restaurant in this area, and she wanted us to try it. We were not disappointed. The food was so good. The service was great. I'd definitely return and eat here again.
Authentic Thai flavors and a warm, inviting vibe — Sip Saam Thai is a gem in Austin! This has been one of my favorite Thai spots since day one. Their Green Apple Pompano is a must-try — the whole fish is fried to perfection and topped with tangy green apple, red onion, tomatoes, cashews, and a refreshing lime dressing. Flavorful, fresh, and absolutely satisfying. We also ordered: Yellow curry with mixed seafood — rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced Pineapple fried rice with mixed meat — sweet, savory, and so good Mango sticky rice and fried banana with coconut + sesame for dessert — both were phenomenal The quality, flavor, and presentation are consistently top-notch. Whether you're dining in or ordering out, Sip Saam never disappoints. Highly recommend!
